UltraCare Grout Protector is a stain-resistant protector specifically formulated for joints sealed with cementitious grouts and for polished porcelain tiles.
TECHNICAL CHARACTERISTICS
When applied on the grouted surface, UltraCare Grout Protector gives a durable and periodically renewable (according to use and exposure) stain-resistant protection, both to the polished porcelain tiles and the cementitious grouts (CG class according to EN 13888).
The product does not alter appearance, colour or shine of the surface and does not create a film over it. It is a
quick-drying treatment.
Treated surfaces are also suitable for contact with foodstuffs.
UltraCare Grout Protector has excellent UV stability and retains good protective capacities even after multiple washings. We advise to clean using either UltraCare Multicleaner Spray or UltraCare Multicleaner, always referring to the respective Technical Data Sheets.
It is resistant to traffic, does not form a film on the surface and has very little effect on the breathability or antislip
properties of the material. The treatment can be carried out with this single product and surfaces are already set to light foot traffic 2 hours after application (in normal conditions of +23°C and 50%R.H.).
Treated surfaces in damp environments are ready for use in 12 hours.
RECOMMENDATIONS
The product is not suitable for treating surfaces different from those specified (use other products of the UltraCare range, referring to the respective Technical Sata Sheets). Always carry out a preliminary test on a hidden sample area, to evaluate the aesthetic result before applying the product on the whole surface.
The treatment may be repeated after a certain period of time to maintain its effect, according to the type of
material, the traffic load and wear level of the surface.
Do not apply the product on exposed surfaces if rain is forecast within the next few hours after application.
UltraCare Grout Protector is applied on completely cured cementitious grouts which already underwent after-laying acid cleaning. Curing times vary according to the type of grout used for filling the joints (always refer to the respective Technical Data Sheet).
If the product is used in interior, make sure the room is well aerated during application and drying.
APPLICATION PROCEDURE
UltraCare Grout Protector is supplied ready to use in bottles, with nebuliser to ease its application. Shake
well before application.
Clean the surface in advance using a suitable cleaner from UltraCare range (such as UltraCare Keranet, UltraCare HD Cleaner, UltraCare Multicleaner, etc.), always referring to the respective Technical Data Sheets.
Apply UltraCare Grout Protector evenly, avoiding the build-up of excess product and spreading it using a fleece applicator or a microfibre cloth. Remove any excess product or dulling before it dries by brushing the surface with a sponge or cloth.
Avoid application on very cold or very hot surfaces (> +35°C o < +5°C). It is advisable to wash the surfaces treated with UltraCare Grout Protector using neutral detergents (such as UltraCare Multicleaner, diluted according to directions given in the respective Technical Data Sheet). Any excess product can be removed even when completely dry by brushing the surface with a microfibre cloth or by applying a solution of UltraCare Multicleaner with a soft abrasive pad and subsequent rinse with clean water.
CONSUMPTION
Up to 30 sq./m of porcelain tiles surface using one 750 ml flask of UltraCare Grout Protector (one coat), according to the surface finish of the material. If applied only on grouts, the product covers up to 800 linear metres. This value is heavily influenced by grouts dimensions and absorption rate.
STORAGE
UltraCare Grout Protector may be stored for 3 years in its original packaging.
